tagging, and classifying all of the 20+ amazing interviews for our Rites of
Passage series, (to be launched on Mother's Day).

I come from a background of being registered as a homebirth midwife. I
have to say that my path to get here was long and winding. Over the
course of my training I found myself working in a hospital in New Zealand, at a
Birth Center in Denver and then in lovely ladies homes, all with the goal of
becoming a midwife. I experienced nearly every realm of the birth setting
and came to my own conclusion on how and where I would like to help women
welcome their babies and in turn where I would like to have my own babies.

What does any of this have to do with the Rites of Passage interviews you
may ask? Watching so many different practitioners including ObGyn's,
CNM's, CPM's, Doulas, Childbirth Educators, Herbalists, Hula Hoop enthusiasts,
Chiropractors and on and on has left me with such a large smile on my
face. I feel so fortunate to find myself living in a country where we
have a choice about where we will give birth and who we want there with us
during this momentous occasion. The practitioners interviewed for the
Rites of Passage videos all offer differing viewpoints, based on their
backgrounds, training and experience. I embrace all these viewpoints and
though I don't agree with them all, I feel honored to be a part of creating a
platform where we explore, respect and start the conversation. I
encourage each of you to watch the videos starting on Mother's Day and join in
the conversation.
