Dr. Greenfield's urging to listen to your own beliefs is an excellent start. What if you're not clear on your own beliefs surrounding this major life event? What if you don't know the options? How do you go about gathering information about the choices for birthing & parenting?

Twenty-five years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my oldest, I went to my ob-gyn practice asuuming my MD would deliver my baby. Only because they had a CNM midwife on staff did I get exposed to the idea of having her see me for prenatal care as well as deliver my baby. It was a life-changing experience. Once I met her, I knew I wanted her to deliver my baby. She was amazing and providng a sense of connection for me. I had 2 more babies with her expert help, in a wonderful birht center.

We only know what we are already familiar with - my passion is supporting parents to look inside and examine beliefs, revise, update, and be aware of how beliefs are shaping their experience, as well as the baby's. Choices aboudn when there is an opportunity to explore.
