Editorial Guidelines
Mindful Mama is committed to a
healthy, sustainable future for mom, baby and the planet. Our
publishing goals are to educate, enlighten and encourage our readers.
We welcome articles on the following themes:
1. Pregnancy 2. Birth 3. Natural Parenting 4. Health and the Environment
Our
objective is to inform parents and practitioners in our network, and to
provide a public relations opportunity for published experts. We do not
pay for content.
Please e-mail sarah@mindful-mama.com. For all
queries, indicate the availability of photos or artwork that relates to
your subject/article. Due to the high volume of queries received, we
regretfully cannot respond to each one. If we are interested in your
story idea, an editor will contact you within 6 weeks.
We
encourage you to read several articles on our website before submitting
a query. While we entertain a variety of styles, we are especially
interested in writers that are experts in their fields, seasoned
parents and birth professionals. Health and sustainability should be at
the heart of every article. We want our writers to project a compelling
and knowing voice that captures the experience of pregnancy, birth and
parenting.
Community Guidelines
Mindful Mama was founded in the spirit community. One of our
community's goals is to connect mamas, dads, grandparents, and care
providers along with health, wellness, and birth professionals. The
community section of our website is where we offer a safe and positive
space to share stories, ask questions, form friendships, seek advice,
and connect. We strive to let the community grow organically through
our members. We simply ask that you abide by the following guidelines
in the spirit of creating a respectful community for all.
-
Please post in a respectful, mindful, and adult manner by not engaging in name-calling, slurs, baiting, harassment, and/or insults. This community houses a wide variety of people and viewpoints; we may not always agree with each other. When disagreement occurs, remember that it is the ideas/topics that are in disagreement and those are what should be discussed-leave the personal insults at the door and engage in constructive discussions.
-
Do not post copyrighted material without permission.
-
Do not post sexually explicit photos or text.
-
Personal advertising is not allowed, unless it is done on your personal page.
-
If you feel that a member is posting inappropriately please contact the Community Advisor to report the post or conduct.
-
If you suspect that a member is an imposter or not legitimate, please email the Community Advisor.
-
You may discuss or ask questions about these policies on the Mindful Mama Admin Discussion group.
-
Mindful Mama reserves the right to change these Guidelines as necessary to meet any future needs.
Violations of Community Guidelines
-
Any community member who feels that the rules are being broken is encouraged to email the Community Advisor and report the problem. If we deem the post to be in violation of the guidelines we will remove it or ask the poster to reword it in a timely manner. If we do not feel the post is in violation we will contact the community member who reported the problem and discuss our findings.
-
Upon finding a post that is in violation, the thread will locked until it is either reworded or removed.
-
We reserve the right to delete any message or remove any member at any time.
Our Responsibilities
We strive to create a safe and open environment where all ideas are heard and conversations are respected. Due to the high volume of posts, the Mindful Mama team will not be able to view each and every post. When we do come across a post that is in violation of the Rules, we will act in a timely manner. The Community Advisor will step in as a guide for discussions when need be.
Your Responsibilities
You are doing your part to help the community grow by becoming involved. By following the Guidelines you are helping create a safe and secure community for Mindful Mamas all over the world. If you see anything that you believe is against the guidelines please don't hesitate to email the Community Advisor.
